So even though I’m a boulderer at heart, I have been getting out on ropes the last few weeks, which means I got to trade in carrying my crash pad for my new Deuter Guide Lite 32 backpack! I don’t often write gear reviews, but this pack is truly worth writing about as it is the most comfortable and functional bag I have used for climbing! Transitioning over to sport climbing, I have realized I need a lot more gear!! No longer do I just need my shoes and chalk bag, but I also have to pack a grigri, quickdraws, slings, a harness, water, a coat to wear while belaying, as well as a plethora of climbing snacks to keep me fueled for a day at the crag (my current favorite snack to pack is mango with coconut sticky rice!!). This is a heavy load to carry for the approach out to Little Si, and it all fit nicely into my Deuter bag (there was actually quite a bit of extra room!).
